- Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent. - Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding,
but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. - Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
and the one who gets understanding. - For in much wisdom is much vexation,
and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future,

His praise endures forever! - The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor,
but the lips of a fool consume him. - That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ.
- My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple. - One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
- With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
but by knowledge the righteous are delivered. - A fool gives full vent to his spirit,
but a wise man quietly holds it back. - A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. - If you turn at my reproof,
behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;
I will make my words known to you. - The vexation of a fool is known at once,
but the prudent ignores an insult. - Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
- A fool despises his father's instruction,
but whoever heeds reproof is prudent. - A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.
