Chinese (traditional)For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope. I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. The Lord will protect you against all evil;
he will watch over your life.
The Lord will watch over your coming and your going
both now and forevermore. Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself. Test everything, and hold fast to what is good. Avoid every form of evil. I will make haste and not delay
to observe your precepts. May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ. This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and barren, and darkness covered the abyss while the Spirit of God hovered over the waters. Be joyful in your hope. Be patient in times of affliction. Persevere in prayer. Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life. Nor would someone light a lamp and then put it under a basket; rather, it is placed upon a lampstand so that it may afford light to all in the house. In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven. The reward of humility and fear of the Lord
is wealth, honor, and life. In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. God is Spirit,
and those who worship him
must worship in Spirit and truth. For to you a thousand years
are like a yesterday that has passed
or one of the watches of the night. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Even though I wander
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
with your rod and your staff
that comfort me. Brethren, I exhort you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to be in full agreement with one another and not permit any divisions to arise among you. Be perfectly united in mind and purpose. Before the mountains were brought forth
or the earth and the world came into existence,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord,
every knee shall bow before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.” The heavens proclaim the glory of God;
the firmament shows forth the work of his hands.
One day imparts that message to the next,
and night conveys that knowledge to night. No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another,
God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us. Owe nothing to anyone except the debt of love you owe one another. The one who loves others has fulfilled the Law. Observe the ordinances of the Lord, your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and what he witnessed in writing in the law of Moses. In this way you will prosper in whatever you do and wherever you go. For you know that the testing of your faith will develop perseverance. The upright are guarded by their integrity;
the treacherous are destroyed by their own duplicity. When the command is given, at the sound of the archangel’s voice and the call of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise. Then those of us who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord. And so, we will be with the Lord forever. Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful. May he give you your heart’s desire
and grant you success in all your plans. To him all the Prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name. However, if we confess our sins,
he who is faithful and just
will forgive our sins
and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.Next verse!With image
