Chinese (traditional)Indeed, it is seldom that anyone will die for a just person, although perhaps for a good person someone might be willing to die. Thus, God proved his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your minds, so that you will be able to discern the will of God and to know what is good and acceptable and perfect. Be strong and courageous in your hearts,
all you who place your hope in the Lord. Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the eternal God,
the Creator of the earth’s farthest boundaries.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding cannot be scrutinized. For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live in righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and undefiled is this: to come to the aid of orphans and widows in their hardships and to keep oneself untarnished by the world. Teach us to comprehend how few our days are
so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them can fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even the hairs on your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth far more than any number of sparrows. Jesus answered, “If it is possible! All things are possible for one who has faith.” Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul;
one who cherishes understanding will prosper. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God. Let mutual love continue, and do not forget to offer hospitality to strangers, for by doing this some have entertained angels without knowing it. The father of a good man will rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will delight in him. Amen, amen, I say to you,
whoever receives the one I send
receives me,
and whoever receives me
receives the one who sent me. After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.” You will show me the path to life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence
and everlasting delights at your right hand. For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter. A true friend is one at all times,
and a brother is born to render help in time of need. He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God. See what love
the Father has bestowed on us,
enabling us to be called the children of God,
and that is what we are.
If the world does not recognize us,
that is because it did not know him. The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life? The grass may wither and the flower may fade,
but the word of our God will endure forever. Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues. In Christ
and through his blood
we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace. Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and those who find it are few in number. Protect me, O God,
for in you I take refuge. Just as in Adam all die, so all will be brought to life in Christ. Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God.Next verse!With image
