Chinese (traditional)I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises. One should be kind to a fainting friend,
but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. From the depths of despair, O Lord,
I call for your help.
Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer. Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get. The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure. “Don’t tear your clothing in your grief,
but tear your hearts instead.”
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He is eager to relent and not punish. Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it. But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” He heals the brokenhearted
and bandages their wounds. Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom;
humility precedes honor. For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent;
with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent. Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. And do everything with love. Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil;
joy fills hearts that are planning peace! May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace.Next verse!With image
