Chinese (traditional)The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed. Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him” House and wealth are inherited from fathers,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord. For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
who does not slander with his tongue
and does no evil to his neighbor,
nor takes up a reproach against his friend. For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine. And I shall walk in a wide place,
for I have sought your precepts. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. This God—his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age. On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
the sun shall not strike them,
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of living water,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?Next verse!With image
