Chinese (traditional)Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me
because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me to announce good news to the oppressed,
to strengthen the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom to those held in captivity
and release to those who have been imprisoned. Plans miscarry when counsel is lacking,
but they succeed when there are many counselors. Everything that you do should be done in love. But whoever endures to the end will be saved. Bless the Lord, O my soul;
my entire being, bless his holy name. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good. Indeed, persecution will afflict all who want to lead a godly life in Christ Jesus. When pride is nurtured, disgrace soon follows,
but wisdom is the hallmark of the humble. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand people were added to their number. I have told you this
so that in me you may be in peace.
In the world
you will endure suffering.
But take courage!
I have overcome the world. Moreover, the one to whom God grants wealth and possessions and the ability to enjoy them and to find contentment in his toil receives a gift from God. Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind. Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble. And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him. I further pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, how rich and glorious is his inheritance in the saints. Let everything that breathes
offer praise to the Lord.
Alleluia. May the Lord guide your hearts to the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ. Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, it will be enough for us.” He has made everything suitable for its time, and he has given men a sense of past and future, but they never have the slightest comprehension of what God has wrought from beginning to end. So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Do not seek to adorn yourself externally—by the braiding of your hair and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothing. Rather, let your adornment be of your inner self, the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. O God, you are my God,
for whom I have been searching earnestly.
My soul yearns for you
and my body thirsts for you,
like the earth when it is parched,
arid and without water. But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience. I will put my Spirit in you and make you follow my statutes and my ordinances. Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead. As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Yours, O Lord, are greatness,
power, glory, strength, and majesty,
for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.Next verse!With image
