Chinese (traditional)So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it. Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them? But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Hear my prayer, O Lord;
listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life. God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” But the love of the Lord remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children
of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments! And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress;
the godly run to him and are safe. If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path. Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road. The Lord protects the foreigners among us.
He cares for the orphans and widows,
but he frustrates the plans of the wicked. Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
