Chinese (traditional)But godliness with contentment is great gain. I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth. Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain. Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers. Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds. Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Children’s children are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
