Chinese (traditional)The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.’ Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge. And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever. Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” How much better to get wisdom than gold,
to get insight rather than silver! No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
