Chinese (traditional)He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke? Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. My lips will shout for joy,
when I sing praises to you;
my soul also, which you have redeemed. But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation. For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.” But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart. You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. Whoever gets sense loves his own soul;
he who keeps understanding will discover good. And rend your hearts and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
and he relents over disaster. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel. Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually! Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”Next verse!With image
