Chinese (traditional)Be on guard against false prophets who come to you disguised in sheep’s clothing, but who inwardly are ravenous wolves. Anyone who leads an honorable life walks in safety,
but whoever pursues wicked ways will be found out. I have given you a command. Be strong and brave, do not be afraid nor dismayed. I, the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go. There is no salvation in anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved. Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord;
O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cries of supplication. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace when we are in need of help. Over all these put on love, which is the bond of perfection. All day long the godless man continues to covet,
whereas the righteous man gives unsparingly. For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be. I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live! Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name give glory
because of your kindness and faithfulness. Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself. While experiencing temptation, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. The fear of the Lord implies hatred of evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil ways and perverse speech. What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer? Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Even if an army encamps against me,
my heart will not succumb to fear;
even if war breaks out against me,
I will not have my trust shaken. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this. And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works. For the Lord is our judge,
the Lord is our lawgiver.
The Lord is our king;
he is the one who will save us. The Lord is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will permit you to find him, but if you abandon him, he will abandon you. Continue in all of the ways that the Lord, your God, has commanded you. Continue in them so that you may live and prosper and that you may long dwell on the land of your inheritance. He has satisfied the thirsty
and filled the hungry with good things. Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God. If anyone wishes to serve me,
he must follow me.
Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person. When pride is nurtured, disgrace soon follows,
but wisdom is the hallmark of the humble. He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your noble confession of faith in the presence of many witnesses. The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is filled with his kindness. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him?
