- Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

and the froward mouth, do I hate. - But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
- See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
- Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
- Be not wise in thine own eyes:
fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel,
and marrow to thy bones. - Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- Ye that love the Lord, hate evil:
he preserveth the souls of his saints;
he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. - Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it. - I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
- Hatred stirreth up strifes:
but love covereth all sins. - And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
- Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil. - And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. - And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
- The face of the Lord is against them that do evil,
to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
