- You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!
- I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
- Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules. - There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
- Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
- And I shall walk in a wide place,
for I have sought your precepts. - In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and remembrance
are the desire of our soul. - In the way of your testimonies I delight
as much as in all riches. - The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”
- But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
- And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.
- If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.
- Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
- So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
- You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.
- I hasten and do not delay
to keep your commandments. - I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food. - And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after.
- The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes.
