- I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live; moreover, it is God's gift that all should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil.

but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - I will never forget your precepts,

- Keep straight the path of your feet,
and all your ways will be sure. - God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.

- There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way to death. - To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
- Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but whoever follows perverse ways will be found out. - All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.
- For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?
- For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
- If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
- So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.
- Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come, and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”.
- Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
- So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
- Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.
- Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards.
- Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
- Hear, my child, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many.
