Love (3/5)

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in kindness. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
During the day the Lord grants his kindness, and at night his praise is with me, a prayer to the living God.By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.
Your kindness is a greater joy than life itself; thus my lips will speak your praise. I will bless you all my life; with uplifted hands I will call on your name.Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
In view of all this, you should make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with piety, and piety with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God.And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Beloved, since God loved us so much, we should love one another.Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
When I realized that my foot was slipping, your kindness, O Lord, raised me up.When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
For from the beginning you have heard the message that we should love one another. For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
Let mutual love continue, and do not forget to offer hospitality to strangers, for by doing this some have entertained angels without knowing it.Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Although the mountains may be shaken and the hills may totter, my steadfast love will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will never be shaken, says the Lord who has compassion on you.“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
For your kindness extends to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us.No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. If you love me, keep my commands.
I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you should also love one another.A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, filled with kindness for all who cry to you. You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
For the entire Law can be summed up in a single commandment: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
God’s love was revealed to us in this way: God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through him. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples: if you love one another.By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
