- The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver,
The heart of the wicked is worth little. - Because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.
- Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
Who walk in the Law of the Lord. - I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.
- Opening his mouth, Peter said:
“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.” - Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
Whoever is discerning, let him know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
And the righteous will walk in them,
But wrongdoers will stumble in them. - Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he grows older he will not abandon it. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Sober up morally and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- I have instructed you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in upright paths. - But He knows the way I take;
When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.
My foot has held on to His path;
I have kept His way and not turned aside. - The hope of the righteous is gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked perishes. - The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing,
But the name of the wicked will rot. - For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
- Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, Lord,
We have waited for You eagerly;
Your name, and remembering You, is the desire of our souls. - And do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God.
- Behold, as for the impudent one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the righteous one will live by his faith. - Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- The Rock! His work is perfect,
For all His ways are just;
A God of faithfulness and without injustice,
Righteous and just is He. - Guarding the paths of justice,
And He watches over the way of His godly ones. - Let your eyes look directly ahead
And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. - If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.
- For You bless the righteous person, Lord,
You surround him with favor as with a shield. - Riches do not benefit on the day of wrath,
But righteousness rescues from death.
