- There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death. - For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
- In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be ashamed;
Deliver me in Your righteousness. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
- I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. - Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright. - Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
- Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’ - All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
- Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
- The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works. - Hear my prayer, O Lord,
Give ear to my supplications!
In Your faithfulness answer me,
And in Your righteousness. - For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
- Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him. - Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy. - With my soul I have desired You in the night,
Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;
For when Your judgments are in the earth,
The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. - But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
- Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
- But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves. - We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
- Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He has commanded us.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
