- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
- I have chosen the way of truth:
thy judgments have I laid before me. - And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. - For his anger endureth but a moment;
in his favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night,
but joy cometh in the morning. - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
- And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
- And therefore will the Lord wait,
that he may be gracious unto you,
and therefore will he be exalted,
that he may have mercy upon you:
for the Lord is a God of judgment:
blessed are all they that wait for him. - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.
- In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
- Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
- And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
- How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
- Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Hatred stirreth up strifes:
but love covereth all sins. - Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
- And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors. - For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
- Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
- Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand:
forget not the humble. - Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
- This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
- So teach us to number our days,
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. - If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
- A fool's wrath is presently known:
but a prudent man covereth shame. - Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
but a good word maketh it glad. - Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
- Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- The hand of the diligent shall bear rule:
but the slothful shall be under tribute. - Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
and before honour is humility. - Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
but he that hateth reproof is brutish. - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
- Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. - Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:
but they that deal truly are his delight. - As far as the east is from the west,
so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. - Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
- Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
- Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
- Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things:
this is known in all the earth.
