- Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips

he set me free from all my fears. - In God alone be at rest, O my soul;
it is from him that my hope comes. - Hence, be subject to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

keep your foot far from evil. - Banish grief from your heart
and ignore the sufferings of your body,
for youth and the prime of life are fleeting. - Every good act of giving and every perfect gift are from above, coming down from the Father of all light. With him there is no alteration or shadow caused by change.

saving them from the grave. - Therefore, a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God, since those who enter into God’s rest also cease from their own labors as God did from his.

Where can I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there. - I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your precepts. - O Lord, all my longing is known to you,
and my sighs are not hidden from you. - For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - Riches will be of no avail on the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Acquire wisdom and gain understanding;
never forget or turn aside from my words. - Let what you heard from the beginning
remain in you.
If what you heard from the beginning
remains in you,
then you will remain in the Son
and in the Father. - I am not asking you
to take them out of the world,
but I do ask you
to protect them from the evil one. - And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. - For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. - I did not hesitate to tell you what was for your benefit as I proclaimed the word to you and taught you publicly as well as from house to house.
- Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. - If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwells in you.
- But you, O Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures from age to age. - Treasures obtained by wicked means profit nothing,
but a righteous life brings delivery from death. - Do not withhold kindness from anyone to whom it is due
when it is in your power to grant it. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - The face of the Lord is turned against those who do evil,
to erase all memory of them from the earth. - However, the Lord is faithful. He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
- From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
- And if then my people who bear my name humble themselves and pray to me and seek my presence as they turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their land.
- If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - I came from the Father
and have come into the world.
Now I am leaving the world
and returning to the Father. - And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- All this knowledge comes from the Lord of hosts
whose counsel is wonderful
and whose wisdom is great. - She will give birth to a son, and you shall name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
- This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother.
