- For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.
- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
- Take words with you
and return to the Lord.
Say to him:
“Forgive all our sins
and receive us graciously,
that we may offer the fruit of our lips.” - Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

- If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
- But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
- But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit. - Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
- No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
- But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
- Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior. - The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.” - The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
- And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
- So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. - Everyone comes naked from their mother’s womb,
and as everyone comes, so they depart.
They take nothing from their toil
that they can carry in their hands. - The vine is dried up
and the fig tree is withered;
the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree—
all the trees of the field—are dried up.
Surely the people’s joy
is withered away. - Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory. - Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
- He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value. - The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
- May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - For he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones. - Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
- Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
- I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
- The name of the righteous is used in blessings,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
- For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.
- May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands. - The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. - For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
- A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The lips of the righteous know what finds favor,
but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. - Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- Blessings crown the head of the righteous,
but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. - By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth. - For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.
After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price.
