- In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.

and exult in the God of my salvation. - At the time that discipline is received, it always seems painful rather than pleasant, but afterward it yields a harvest of peace and uprightness to those who have been trained by it.
- However, now that you have been freed from sin and bound to the service of God, the benefit you receive is sanctification, and the end is eternal life.
- The heart is more deceitful than any other thing,
and it is also perverse.
Who can uncover its secrets?
I, the Lord, search the heart
and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
and as their deeds deserve. - Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - However, the wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, and considerate, full of mercy and good fruits, without any trace of partiality or hypocrisy.
- So shall my word be
that issues forth from my mouth.
It will not return to me unfulfilled,
but it will accomplish my purpose
and achieve what I sent it forth to do. - Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb,
so shall he depart, naked as he came,
with nothing remaining from his labor
that he can carry away in his hands. - The vine has withered;
the fig tree droops.
The pomegranate, the palm, and the apple tree—
all the trees of the field have dried up.
And the joy of the people
has also withered away. - Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts:
he is the King of glory. Selah - And take the helmet of salvation as well as the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
- By his own choice he gave us birth through the way of truth so that we may be a kind of firstfruits of all his creation.
- The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.
- I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him.

the heart of the wicked is without worth. - For he guards the paths of justice
and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. - I am confident that I will behold the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - Make every possible effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

but the expectations of the wicked are frustrated. - A good man produces good from the store of goodness in his heart, whereas an evil man produces evil from the store of evil within him. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.
- Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their parents. - Indeed, creation itself eagerly awaits the revelation of the children of God.
- For everything that is in the world—
the concupiscence of the flesh,
the concupiscence of the eyes,
and the pride of life—
comes not from the Father
but from the world. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools are those who despise wisdom and instruction. - Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand in the way of sinners,
nor sit in the company of scoffers. - The righteous is remembered with blessings,
but the name of the wicked fades away. - What is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him? - The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
