- The beginning of wisdom is: acquire wisdom,

- Then he said to all who were with him, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
- Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - A gentle reply turns away wrath,
but a harsh word arouses anger. - Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.

My help comes from the Lord,

- Blessed is the person who has found wisdom,
the one who has gained understanding. - And opens the eyes of those who cannot see.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous. - However, those who want riches fall into temptations and are trapped into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
- He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
- Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul;
one who cherishes understanding will prosper. - And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- Everyone who seeks a prize submits himself to rigorous self-discipline in every respect. They do so to win a perishable crown, while we seek an imperishable one.
- A generous person will be enriched;
he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. - Those who place their hope in the Lord
will regain their strength.
They will soar as with eagles’ wings,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not become faint. - How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul. - While he was departing as they gazed upward toward the sky, suddenly two men dressed in white robes stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking up into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”
- And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God.
- You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
- Speak out and pronounce righteous judgments;
defend the rights of the wretched and the poor. - Therefore, rid yourselves of everything sordid and of every wicked excess, and welcome in all humility the word that is implanted in you and is able to save your souls.
- He reserves his wisdom for the upright
and is a shield to those who lead blameless lives.
