- I was ready to be sought out by those who did not ask,
to be found by those who did not seek me.

to a nation that did not call on my name. - But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him.”

And who is a rock, except our God? - God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.
- For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
- The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for that is the whole duty of everyone.
- Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
- And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.

my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. - Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
- All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means, “God is with us.” - For there is one God; there is also one mediator between God and humankind, Christ Jesus, himself human.

for the living God.
When shall I come and behold
the face of God? - For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Do not fear,
I will help you.” - If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
- This is what I have seen to be good: it is fitting to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of the life God gives us; for this is our lot.
- The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners. - Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.
