- For I am longing to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or rather so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
- For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
- Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good?
- I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.

I put my trust in you. - Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke? - No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
- Even to your old age I am he,
even when you turn gray I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. - I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
- Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
- Do not fear, for I am with you,
do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.
- Take words with you
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
“Take away all guilt;
accept that which is good,
and we will offer
the fruit of our lips.” - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.
- But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- Give heed to my reproof;
I will pour out my thoughts to you;
I will make my words known to you. - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
- You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you.
- You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.
