In him (4/4)

  • Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
  • If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
  • The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him.
  • Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.
  • But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
  • Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes.
  • Yes, God will bless us,
and people all over the world will fear him.
  • But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
yes, I prayed to my God for help.
    He heard me from his sanctuary;
my cry to him reached his ears.
  • Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
  • And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
  • But the Lord watches over those who fear him,
those who rely on his unfailing love.
  • And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
  • Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
  • Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?
  • Joyful are those who obey his laws
and search for him with all their hearts.
  • Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
  • Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
  • Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,
“Praise God for the Son of David!
Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
    Praise God in highest heaven!”
  • Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
  • But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
  • Sing praises to God and to his name!
Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds.
    His name is the Lord
    rejoice in his presence!
Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
  • When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!
  • Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
  • As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
  • The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
