Bible Verses about 'Proverbs 21:31'
- All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life and honor. - All day long the wicked covet,
but the righteous give and do not hold back. - A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is riches and honor and life. - Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray. - The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender. - Do not wear yourself out to get rich;
be wise enough to desist. - When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - My child, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. - The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will be glad in him. - Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, you will find a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - Like a city breached, without walls,
is one who lacks self-control. - Do not forsake your friend or the friend of your parent;
do not go to the house of your kindred in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is nearby
than kindred who are far away. - The clever see danger and hide;
but the simple go on, and suffer for it. - Iron sharpens iron,
and one person sharpens the wits of another. - Just as water reflects the face,
so one human heart reflects another. - When one will not listen to the law,
even one's prayers are an abomination. - No one who conceals transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. - A fool gives full vent to anger,
but the wise quietly holds it back. - A person's pride will bring humiliation,
but one who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. - The fear of others lays a snare,
but one who trusts in the Lord is secure. - Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that I need. - Speak out for those who cannot speak,
for the rights of all the destitute. - Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - A capable wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels. - Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Give heed to my reproof;
I will pour out my thoughts to you;
I will make my words known to you. - For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly. - Guarding the paths of justice
and preserving the way of his faithful ones. - Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path. - My child, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments;
for length of days and years of life
and abundant welfare they will give you. - Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute
in the sight of God and of people. - Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths. - Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. - Honor the Lord with your substance
and with the first fruits of all your produce. - My child, do not despise the Lord's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
for the Lord reproves the one he loves,
as a father the son in whom he delights. - Happy are those who find wisdom,
and those who get understanding. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - Do not envy the violent
and do not choose any of their ways;
for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - Get wisdom; get insight: do not forget, nor turn away
from the words of my mouth. - The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever else you get, get insight. - Hear, my child, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many. - I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness. - My child, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.
