- And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal for the day of redemption.

- Or can a man walk on red-hot coals
without scorching his feet? - For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
- He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.
- Therefore, take care to live as intelligent people, and do not be like those who are senseless. Make the most of the present time, for this is a wicked age.

than the one who is in the world. - For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for a life of good works that God had prepared for us to do.
- It is rash to pledge a sacred gift,
or to make a vow and then have second thoughts. - Jesus answered, “As it is written:
‘Man does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.’ ” - An honorable name is more to be desired than great riches,
and high esteem is preferable to silver and gold.
