- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
- Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
- When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears,
and rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted,
and saves the crushed in spirit. - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - Those who are wise understand these things;
those who are discerning know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
and the upright walk in them,
but transgressors stumble in them. - He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
- But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.
The righteous shall be kept safe forever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness. - Do not fear, for I am with you,
do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - If we diligently observe this entire commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, we will be in the right.
- The Almighty —we cannot find him;
he is great in power and justice,
and abundant righteousness he will not violate. - Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
- Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly. - Better is a little with righteousness
than large income with injustice. - Speak out, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
but righteousness delivers from death. - This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
- If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- The Rock, his work is perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God, without deceit,
just and upright is he. - For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
