- When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

but harsh words make tempers flare. - When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.
- The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
he brings some down and lifts others up. - So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
- Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!

The Lord loves the godly. - So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
- If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
- Worry weighs a person down;
an encouraging word cheers a person up. - Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
- How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world. - Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. - The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.
- A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. - I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds.
- Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice. - Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.”
- For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. - But in that coming day
no weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice
raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord;
their vindication will come from me.
I, the Lord, have spoken!
