Bible Verses about 'Rise up'
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. - Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
- He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.
- But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
- And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.
- And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
- Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
forget not the afflicted. - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you,
and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for him. - He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds. - For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
- The vine dries up;
the fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
all the trees of the field are dried up,
and gladness dries up
from the children of man. - And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
- A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.
- And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
- When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- One's pride will bring him low,
but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. - And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
- God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
- Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
- I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
- The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous. - Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
- And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
- Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind! - Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands. - And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul. - The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”
- And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
- And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
- Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith. - But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
- Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
