- Open your mouth, judge righteously,
defend the rights of the poor and needy. - Put away from you crooked speech,
and put devious talk far from you. - On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.
- Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
still less is false speech to a prince. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
- But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host. - Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.
- The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. - I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food. - I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
- In my distress I called upon the Lord;
to my God I cried for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry to him reached his ears. - For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
- If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;
then you shall take delight in the Lord,
and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
- And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
- If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.
- And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
- But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

but those who act faithfully are his delight. - Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
