- So those who welcomed his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand persons were added.
- About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

- For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
- But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
- There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling.
- Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
- Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
- And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.
- God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.
- For just as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
