- So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
- I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.
- He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
- But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
- And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
- Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. - And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous. - See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.
- But they who wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint. - If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
- And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
- Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
- Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it. - Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind! - Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.
