- Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil. - The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
and the froward mouth, do I hate. - Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it. - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:
remove thy foot from evil. - Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. - But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
- Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil:
but to the counsellors of peace is joy. - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
- But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
- Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.
- Seek good, and not evil,
that ye may live:
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you,
as ye have spoken. - For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
- And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
- The face of the Lord is against them that do evil,
to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - Ye that love the Lord, hate evil:
he preserveth the souls of his saints;
he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. - Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.Next verse!With image
