- I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.
- Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
- For you, O God, have tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried. - O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. - It will not be so among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave.
- I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- O Lord, all my longing is known to you;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
- Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you.
- Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
- Even to your old age I am he,
even when you turn gray I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. - For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
- Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
- Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
- Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—
in peace because they trust in you. - Do not fear, for I am with you,
do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
- O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from far away. - You shall not murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; Honor your father and mother; also, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
- For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
- For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.
- You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am.
