- But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
- And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
- But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
- It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long. - For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. - But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.
- Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee. - By the word of the Lord were the heavens made;
and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. - But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
