- You have given me the shield of your salvation;
your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled. - If you abide in me
and my words abide in you,
you may ask for whatever you wish,
and it will be done for you. - He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - Every word of God has proved to be true;
he is a shield to those who trust in him. - My son, concentrate attentively on my words;
pay heed to the instructions I pass on to you.
Do not let them slip from your mind;
keep them forever in your heart. - Let the word of Christ with all its richness dwell in you. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God with gratitude in your hearts.

He is a shield to all
who take refuge in him. - I treasure your word in my heart
for fear that I may sin against you. - As Scripture asserts, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
- Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. - You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
- I wait for the Lord in anxious expectation;
I place my hope in his word. - He sent forth his word and healed them,
saving them from the grave. - The law of the Lord is perfect,
affording refreshment to the soul.
The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust,
imparting wisdom to the simple. - Therefore say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: The fulfillment of my words will not be delayed any longer. What I have said will be done now. This is the word of the Lord God.”
- The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.
- Acquire wisdom and gain understanding;
never forget or turn aside from my words. - The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this.
- Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - You have already been cleansed
by the word I have spoken to you. - Through him all things came into existence,
and without him there was nothing.
That which came to be. - Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
- Jesus answered them,
“My teaching is not my own;
rather, it comes from him who sent me.” - This saying can be trusted:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him. - I have not strayed from the commandments of his lips;
I have treasured in my heart the words of his mouth.
