Chinese (traditional)Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’ First, help me never to tell a lie.
Second, give me neither poverty nor riches!
Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them. May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace. Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me.
Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. Haughtiness goes before destruction;
humility precedes honor. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it. The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences. You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Where is another God like you,
who pardons the guilt of the remnant,
overlooking the sins of his special people?
You will not stay angry with your people forever,
because you delight in showing unfailing love. Praise the Lord; praise God our savior!
For each day he carries us in his arms. Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.” How can a young person stay pure?
By obeying your word. But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. Loyalty makes a person attractive.
It is better to be poor than dishonest. Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. Some people are always greedy for more,
but the godly love to give! God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they will be satisfied. When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Hatred stirs up quarrels,
but love makes up for all offenses. Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!Next verse!With image
