Chinese (traditional)For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. He personally carried our sins
in his body on the cross
so that we can be dead to sin
and live for what is right.
By his wounds
you are healed. Those who feel free to eat anything must not look down on those who don’t. And those who don’t eat certain foods must not condemn those who do, for God has accepted them. People with understanding control their anger;
a hot temper shows great foolishness. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. The Lord is good and does what is right;
he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
He leads the humble in doing right,
teaching them his way. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit. Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love
will find life, righteousness, and honor. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
but trusting the Lord means safety. And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do. For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning. Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences. He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. People who conceal their sins will not prosper,
but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything. Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom;
humility precedes honor. Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name. He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.Next verse!With image
