Chinese (traditional)I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just
than when we offer him sacrifices. But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” Your laws are my treasure;
they are my heart’s delight. God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. People may be right in their own eyes,
but the Lord examines their heart. So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” But God is my helper.
The Lord keeps me alive! On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. Where is another God like you,
who pardons the guilt of the remnant,
overlooking the sins of his special people?
You will not stay angry with your people forever,
because you delight in showing unfailing love. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But in my distress I cried out to the Lord;
yes, I prayed to my God for help.
He heard me from his sanctuary;
my cry to him reached his ears. In those days when you pray, I will listen. They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus. The hopes of the godly result in happiness,
but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven.
And everyone will see him—
even those who pierced him.
And all the nations of the world
will mourn for him.
Yes! Amen! After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him. I lift my hands to you in prayer.
I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
but trusting the Lord means safety. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him. But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.Next verse!With image
