- So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. - What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
- In this way, I will show my greatness and holiness, and I will make myself known to all the nations of the world. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
- God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.
The world and all its people belong to him. - You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
- Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.
- But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
- Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
- But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.
- I will be filled with joy because of you.
I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. - May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- He reveals deep and mysterious things
and knows what lies hidden in darkness,
though he is surrounded by light. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock? - Our God is in the heavens,
and he does as he wishes. - For you, a thousand years are as a passing day,
as brief as a few night hours. - We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty;
but even though he is just and righteous,
he does not destroy us. - I will show how holy my great name is—the name on which you brought shame among the nations. And when I reveal my holiness through you before their very eyes, says the Sovereign Lord, then the nations will know that I am the Lord.
- I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
- The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens,
while its foundation is on the earth.
He draws up water from the oceans
and pours it down as rain on the land.
The Lord is his name! - And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”
- This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
- And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law.
- You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
