- Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.
- Let all your things be done with charity.
- Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto thee. - And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
- Let not mercy and truth forsake thee:
bind them about thy neck;
write them upon the table of thine heart:
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding
in the sight of God and man. - And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
- We love him, because he first loved us.
- With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.
- And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
- Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.
- This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
- And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
- And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
- Can a woman forget her sucking child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
yea, they may forget,
yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me. - Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.
- Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.
- No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
- Set me as a seal upon thine heart,
as a seal upon thine arm:
for love is strong as death;
jealousy is cruel as the grave:
the coals thereof are coals of fire,
which hath a most vehement flame. - If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
- Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
- Since thou wast precious in my sight,
thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee:
therefore will I give men for thee,
and people for thy life. - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
