Bible Verses about 'Bring a tree into your house'
- Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword.
- Gentle words are a tree of life;
a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. - For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.
- Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. - “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
- But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
- Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
- A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. - Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. - I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.
- And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.”
- Unless the Lord builds a house,
the work of the builders is wasted.
Unless the Lord protects a city,
guarding it with sentries will do no good. - For the Lord gave us this command when he said,
‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles,
to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’ - Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
- The grapevines have dried up,
and the fig trees have withered.
The pomegranate trees, palm trees, and apple trees—
all the fruit trees—have dried up.
And the people’s joy has dried up with them. - You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.
- For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
- For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
- No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
- Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels;
they are asking for a beating. - I will strengthen Judah and save Israel;
I will restore them because of my compassion.
It will be as though I had never rejected them,
for I am the Lord their God, who will hear their cries. - Pride ends in humiliation,
while humility brings honor. - Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
- Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel:
“Come back to me and live!” - On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.
- Please, Lord, please save us.
Please, Lord, please give us success.
Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord. - “Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning to heart.”
- But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
- “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)
- Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?
- God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
- Wise words bring approval,
but fools are destroyed by their own words. - The one thing I ask of the Lord—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple. - Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth,
but only the Lord can give an understanding wife. - There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
- Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord.
Say to him,
“Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us,
so that we may offer you our praises.” - And don’t let us yield to temptation,
but rescue us from the evil one. - Never abandon a friend—
either yours or your father’s.
When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance.
It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away. - No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.

- Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food.”
- Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. - May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.
- Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
- My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart. - As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
