for I am the Lord their God, who will hear their cries. - Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.
- For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.
- For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
- Fools vent their anger,
but the wise quietly hold it back. - Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
- The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher,
and he gives the farmer great wisdom. - The wicked borrow and never repay,

those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. - Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
- Those who listen to instruction will prosper;
those who trust the Lord will be joyful. - It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
- And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.
- For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
- I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.
- All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.
- I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I go and stand before him? - The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
- A wise child brings joy to a father;
a foolish child brings grief to a mother. - Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life.
- I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.
