- Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah - The Rock, his work is perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God, without deceit,
just and upright is he. - But when he heard this, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
- He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- May he grant you your heart's desire,
and fulfill all your plans. - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - He replied, “What is impossible for mortals is possible for God.”
- And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
- So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.
- Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your vindication shine like the light,
and the justice of your cause like the noonday. - And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.
- So we fasted and petitioned our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
- Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, and when they were over, he was famished.
- For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with victory. - Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
- Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
- My child, do not despise the Lord's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
for the Lord reproves the one he loves,
as a father the son in whom he delights. - Our steps are made firm by the Lord,
when he delights in our way. - Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
and makes me tread upon the heights. - For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the last he will stand upon the earth. - Let the wicked forsake their way,
and the unrighteous their thoughts;
let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Having said this, he breathed his last.
