She is more precious than rubies. - It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.

This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. - Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?

See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.
Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins. - In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?” This shamed his enemies, but all the people rejoiced at the wonderful things he did.
- If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.

- Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.

the heart of a fool is worthless. - And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
- The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.
- Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!
- What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord,
whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. - There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
- Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
- You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.
