- And whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with victory. - Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again.
- One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city. - You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
- I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit.
- Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
and speak the truth from their heart;
who do not slander with their tongue,
and do no evil to their friends,
nor take up a reproach against their neighbors. - This is what I have seen to be good: it is fitting to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of the life God gives us; for this is our lot.
- Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion. - So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
- Take words with you
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
“Take away all guilt;
accept that which is good,
and we will offer
the fruit of our lips.” - When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. - It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to put confidence in mortals. - O taste and see that the Lord is good;
happy are those who take refuge in him. - Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord! - Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - By insolence the heedless make strife,
but wisdom is with those who take advice. - Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
- The Lord is good,
a stronghold in a day of trouble;
he protects those who take refuge in him. - And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. - Some take pride in chariots, and some in horses,
but our pride is in the name of the Lord our God. - I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.
The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
