- For everything there is a season,
and a time for every activity under heaven. - We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.

- I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter.
- Jesus then said,
“I will remain with you
only for a short time longer,
and then I shall return
to him who sent me.” - From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
- Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by mutual consent for a specified time so as to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan may not tempt you by taking advantage of your lack of self-control.
- You shall obey his statutes and the commandments that I give you today, so that all may go well with you and your children after you, and that you may live long in the land that the Lord, your God, has given you for all time.

both now and forevermore. - Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, where he was tempted by the devil. During that time he ate nothing, and at the end of it he was famished.

do not trust every spirit,
but test the spirits
to see whether they are from God.
For many false prophets
have gone out into the world. - Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of your opportunity. Let your speech always be gracious and seasoned with wisdom, so that you will know how to respond properly to all.
- And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works.
