- But this command I gave them, “Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk only in the way that I command you, so that it may be well with you.”
- If only they had such a mind as this, to fear me and to keep all my commandments always, so that it might go well with them and with their children forever!
- For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
- For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. - While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, “This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!”
- Pray then in this way:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. - Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”
- But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
- But when he heard this, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
- Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
- Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am first,
and will be with the last. - You must follow exactly the path that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you are to possess.
- But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.
- In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that mortals may not find out anything that will come after them.
- Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”
- Six days shall work be done; but the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work: it is a sabbath to the Lord throughout your settlements.
- So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.
- If any of you sin without knowing it, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, you have incurred guilt, and are subject to punishment.
- O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you, I will praise your name;
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure. - You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am.
- The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, all that he has is in your power; only do not stretch out your hand against him!” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
- He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

- To those who by patiently doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
- For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well.
- But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done.
- By insolence the heedless make strife,
but wisdom is with those who take advice. - He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
- I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.
- All these were constantly devoting themselves to prayer, together with certain women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, as well as his brothers.
- Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
- Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work. But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, or your son or your daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or your donkey, or any of your livestock, or the resident alien in your towns, so that your male and female slave may rest as well as you.
- Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly.
- Learn to do good;
seek justice,
rescue the oppressed,
defend the orphan,
plead for the widow. - Jesus said to him, “If you are able!—All things can be done for the one who believes.”
