- Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent,
and discerning if they hold their tongues. - Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. - Blessed are those who find wisdom,

The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. - One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind.
- With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors,
but through knowledge the righteous escape. - Fools give full vent to their rage,
but the wise bring calm in the end. - The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating. - Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult. - Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings. - Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
- The father of a righteous child has great joy;
a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. - A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.
